How to Find a Daily Devotional

“This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” Joshua 1:8

We are very fortunate to live in such a modern society. Sure, some “modern conveniences” add to the stress-factor, but when it comes to studying God’s Word, there has never been a time like it. Only one hundred years ago most families had one copy of the Bible in their home. Just one thousand years ago many did not have the Bible in their language and of those that did, most could not read. Two thousand years ago the apostle Paul would have loved to have an IPad loaded with commentaries, sermons and daily podcasts at his fingertips! How often do we neglect these helpful “modern conveniences?”

There is not a right or wrong way to find a daily devotional. The important thing is finding something that will be easy for you to access everyday. For some, this will be a printed book stacked under your Bible next to your bed. For others, this will be a digital or audio download that appears on your device everyday. If you are not currently using a daily devotional, you may want to consider trying several different formats until you find the one that works best.
